The Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) has officially joined the Latin American Governments' BIM Network, following an invitation from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). Representation will be handled by analyst Leonardo Santana, who will participate in the Technical Committee "Alliances with Public Networks." The group brings together nine countries in the region with the objective of accelerating the digital transformation of the construction industry through BIM, and is currently working with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on the project “Regional Platform for the Digital Transformation of the Construction Sector in Latin America and the Caribbean,” aimed at addressing challenges such as low productivity, greenhouse gas emissions, and technological dependence.

Created in 2019 with the support of the IDB, the network promotes international cooperation through joint strategies, seminars, publications, and an online repository of information. It also maintains partnerships with global initiatives, such as the Global BIM Network, to expand the exchange of experiences and best practices. For ABDI, joining the network is an opportunity to share advances in the BIM BR Strategy and, at the same time, learn from other countries, strengthening the region's construction industry towards greater sustainability and innovation.
